Tipsheet: Failures elsewhere boost Missouri's College Football Playoff hopes

Missouri improved to 5-4 after their 27-14 road victory over South Carolina.

The Tigers are now bowl eligible with three games remaining on their schedule.

With No. 1 Tennessee's loss to South Carolina, Missouri has a chance to win the SEC East if they win out and win the SEC Championship Game.

Missouri's remaining schedule includes home games against No. 25 Arkansas and Vanderbilt and a road game at No. 11 Kentucky.

The Tigers will be favored in all three of those games.

If they can win out, Missouri will finish the regular season with a 9-4 record and a chance to win the SEC Championship Game.

Missouri has not been ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings this season, but they could move into the top 25 if they can win out.

A top-25 ranking would give Missouri a chance to make the College Football Playoff if they win the SEC Championship Game.

The College Football Playoff is a four-team playoff that determines the national champion in college football.
