Justin Thomas Edges Out Will Zalatoris in Playoff

TULSA, Okla. -- Justin Thomas won the 2022 PGA Championship on Sunday in a three-hole playoff over Will Zalatoris. Thomas shot a 4-under 66 in the final round to match Zalatoris at 5-under 275 for the tournament. Zalatoris forced the playoff with a birdie on the 18th hole.

Thomas won the playoff with a birdie on the third extra hole. He hit a 3-wood to 25 feet on the par-5 17th hole and two-putted for birdie. Zalatoris missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the same hole.

It was Thomas' second major championship victory, following his win at the 2017 PGA Championship. He is now the world's No. 1 ranked golfer.

Zalatoris finished in second place for the second time in a major championship this year. He was also the runner-up at the Masters Tournament in April.
